Spicy Christmas nuts

Christmas-spiced nuts are one of those recipes that require minimal effort but deliver maximum flavor. Cashews and almonds come together with warm Christmas spices, and the whole mixture just needs to be stirred and put in the oven. During roasting, the kitchen fills with a delightful holiday aroma, resulting in crispy, aromatic nuts that are perfect for snacking, offering to guests, or as a sweet homemade gift.

You need:

  • Cashews 250g
  • Almonds 250g
  • 2 egg whites (size M, about 60g total)
  • Brown sugar 55g
  • Sugar 55g
  • Santa Maria gingerbread spice mix 1 packet
  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C with convection. Without convection, bake at 160°C.
  2. Mix the sugars and gingerbread spice together.
  3. Whisk the egg whites lightly and pour the nuts into them, mix the nuts together with the egg.
  4. Add the sugar and spice mixture to the nuts and mix thoroughly so everything is evenly coated.
  5. Place parchment paper on the baking tray and spread the nuts evenly so they form a single layer.
  6. Küpseta pähkleid 20-25 minutit. Peale poolt küpsetusaega sega pähkleid ja küpseta lõpuni.
  7. When you take them out, the nuts will still feel soft, but leave them to cool on the baking tray—they will crisp up as they sit.

Pack the nuts into a small cellophane bag and you can share this joy with a friend too.
